As most of us are aware, we have a massive federal election coming up. Every election is important, but this year, it’s made more significant by the impending pressures and hazards of anthropological climate change, topical issues like Indigenous rights and accessible housing, and the fact that we’ve just come out of a messy COVID-storm.
You might feel like no matter which way you vote, politics will be politics. Cynicism might come creeping in as you justify why your ballot slip won’t change the outcome of a nation. Newsflash: until the revolution comes, participating in the democratic system is the best option we have to further the change we want to see.
Join us this Tuesday as we engage in Auspol to understand what stakes are at play:
- How to make your vote count – House of Reps vs Senate
- Marginal electorates that can change the government
- How to research how current candidates vote in Parliament re policy
- Vote Compass – a resource that analyses survey data to determine where you align on the political spectrum
- … and a Q&A section where you can ask all your burning questions
